EXOTIC RACES
Not every adventurer fits the standard mold. Heroes and villains can emerge from a variety of backgrounds and environments. While custom and campaign-specific races have long been part of Murdon, the rise in popularity of race creation has led to the introduction of "Exotic Races." These uncommon races provide a unique framework for creating characters beyond the usual options. If the standard races of Murdon don’t suit your taste, consider exploring one of these rare and intriguing alternatives!
DROW
The Drow are the black sheep of the elven race, representing more than just a variant—they are a splinter and a thorn in the side of their kin. While Solarkin might coexist with Verans, those born to the moonlight are often feared as monsters. The harsh reality of living in a world without acceptance has hardened many Drow hearts. Few remain charismatic, with many trading social interaction for opportunities to prove their own glory over others.
Drow are athletic in ways their forest-born brethren are not. Where the wilds nurture, the earth imposes toughness. As a result, Grey Elves are no longer frail; they must be strong to survive.

LUPINS
Named for their wolven features, the Lupin share similarities with both Werewolves and Tobins. These beings, though beasts in mortal flesh, are among the least violent of the races. Despite their ferocious appearance, Lupin are typically docile and use their talents to excel as bards, performers, and workers. With enough dedication, some even become mages, though their magical abilities are often less impressive compared to their Tobin counterparts.
However, don't underestimate a Lupin. Like the werewolves they resemble, these large folk will not hesitate to strike back if provoked.

MYCANS
Little is known about the Mycans, a fungal race that resides in caverns and other secluded areas. Despite their reclusive nature, Mycans are notably cooperative and willing to assist those in need. They come in various shapes and sizes, reflecting the diversity of mushrooms they are based on. Most notably, their forms vary according to their roles within their society.
Typically led by a Queen, Mycans adapt to their community’s needs, allowing individuals outside the royal sphere to develop any necessary specialties.

WEREWOLVES
Not a race but rather a condition, lycanthropes, including werewolves, are recognized as both gifted and cursed. They exist between two forms: their standard race and their bestial lycanthropic state. This duality can be exhausting and stressful, as werewolves often struggle against rumors and legends while trying to find their place in normal society. The first werewolf, Wyatt, demonstrated that what is terrifying does not have to be evil.
Werewolves are exceptionally skilled in various areas, namely areas involving physical prowess. However, due to their condition, they are unable to cast spells, leaving much magical knowledge beyond their grasp.

ANDROIDS
In a world where fantasy and science intersect, the tale of androids begins. These beings resemble other races of Murdon but are primarily constructs, created from various materials such as metal or wood, or even living flesh. The defining feature of an android is their construction through magic or science, rather than natural birth. Despite their diverse forms, all androids share two common traits: unnatural speed and agility, coupled with challenges in mastering the skills that other mortal races excel in.

FAELOST
Fairies are often reclusive and hidden, with their interactions ranging from benevolent to harmful, making encounters with them rare. However, Faelost are an exception. These fairies, though retaining their roots, were banished from their kind for reasons unknown—be it harming the forest, another fairy, or committing a more grievous act. As a result, Faelost are now mortal and live as magically-gifted humanoids. They can be good or evil, but many are neutral by nature.
Faelost vary in size; some are small enough to perch on other mortals, while others may grow to human size if they possess sufficient power. They may occasionally have wings.
