Weapons

No high fantasy adventure is complete without iconic weapons like a legendary sword or a reliable spear. In Murdon, there are eight broad weapon categories, including the more protective shields. taking proficiency in any of these categories allows a character to effectively wield any weapon within that category. Each weapon type has a specific roll to hit, though exceptions may apply and are subject to the ChatMaster’s discretion.
Fists
Fist weapons encompass two distinct types: those worn on the arms and hands, such as knuckles, claws, and gauntlets, as well as unarmed attacks like punches, kicks, and tackles. Whether you’re using a specialized weapon or relying on your own body, fist attacks are always intended for close-quarters combat. Notably, wielding fist weapons does require Speed or Strength, but not both.

Blades
Bladed weapons in Murdon feature a cutting edge along most of their length and include a diverse array of arms, from long swords and daggers to greatswords. Mastery in blade weapons offers remarkable versatility, allowing you to wield a shield in your off-hand, dual-wield, use throwing daggers for melee combat, or wield a single weapon with two hands for greater impact. This adaptability makes bladed weapons a popular choice across the multiverse. Weighted
Weighted weapons are those where most of the weapon's mass is concentrated at the end, making them ideal for powerful, impactful strikes. Weighted weapons are known for their brutal attack power and typically require characters with significant strength to wield effectively. polearms
Polearms in Murdon are defined by their long shafts, with many featuring a point or blade at the end. This category includes a wide range of weapons, from spears to halberds. While mastering polearms requires practice, they do not demand exceptional speed or strength from the wielder, making them versatile choices for various combat styles. Shields
Shields provide unparalleled defensive capabilities, offering protection that sets them apart from other weapons.
