Items in Murdon can be a great advantage to a player. The better one’s weapon, the more damage it will do. With a high weapon proficiency, a player can do good damage with just about any version of their weapon but a master swordsman will do better with a razor edged saber than with a rusty falchion. Shields on the other hand increase health but will usually count as improvised weapons, dealing less damage. They work the same way as weapons do for how much they increase a player’s health by. Better shields and better proficiency will both increase the health boost. Armor increases health as well, and generally by more than a shield will. Armor can be more effective the better it is but there is no armor proficiency so the effect of armor depends purely on its quality. Potions are consumable items that either heal or grant advantage in a certain trait or proficiency for a limited time. Finally, magic items of all sorts may be found around your campaign at your GM’s discretion.
